Making Connections

Other than knowing how to retell the stories that we read, we have talked about how good readers make connections to the stories that they read.  Remember what the different kinds of connections were?  Here is a picture to help you remember!

Today, we will practice making connections to the story "The Relatives Came" by Cynthia Rylant.  How many of you remember a time when your relatives came to visit?  I miss those times right now...but hopefully we will get to see many of our family members soon!  In the meantime, we can think about all the happy memories that we had with our relatives.  After listening to this story, please make some connections.  You can fill out the graphic organizer below.
