After reading, it is important to be able to retell the story.  We have been learning what to include in a retell.  We need to know the characters, setting, problem, and solution of the story.  We also need to be able to retell the beginning, middle, and end of the story.  Keep practicing at home after you read your Snuggle books!

Here are some examples of the ones we did in class:

Recount Writing

We have been working hard on our writing and lately, we have been doing some recount writing.  We have learned how to do small moment writing, but now we are tacking on more since we are in Grade 2!  After our small moment introduction, we add on words such as 'First, Next, Then, Last/Finally," to give more detail to our readers.  You can practice your writing at home...here are the Learning Goals and Success Criteria so that we know what to include to get a Level 3 or 4!

Results from our Science Experiments!

This weekend we were all scientists at home.  We had to mix a solid with water and a liquid with water and record the results.  Today, we shared our results and found out some solids that dissolved in water and some liquids that mixes well with water.  Here is our summary and a few of our experiments!
