More Probability

We learned some probability words last week.  They were CERTAIN, IMPOSSIBLE, LIKELY, and UNLIKELY.

Here are the answers to things that were CERTAIN (will happen) and IMPOSSIBLE (will NOT happen).  Did you get them all right?

Next, here are some examples of things that were LIKELY (will probably happen) and UNLIKELY (will probably NOT happen)

Today, we will be doing another probability activity.

Here is a review of the terms.  Looking at the marbles and the colours:

 - It is CERTAIN to choose a marble because they are ALL marbles (you have to find the one thing that is the SAME in the group).
- It is LIKELY that you will choose a purple because there are more purple marbles...there are 9 purple marbles and 2 yellow ones.
- It is UNLIKELY that you will choose a yellow because there are only 2 yellow marbles.
- It is IMPOSSIBLE to choose green because there are NO green marbles.

Now, you are going to tell me what is the probability of getting each shape.  For each question, please tell me WHY you think it is certain/impossible/likely/unlikely.
