More probability words

Yesterday, we learned the probability words IMPOSSIBLE and CERTAIN.  It is IMPOSSIBLE for turtles to fly and it is CERTAIN for Tuesday to come after Monday.  Today, we will learn 2 more probability words, LIKELY and UNLIKELY.

In an event that is LIKELY, that means that it will probably happen.  There is a very slight chance that it may not, but it will mostly happen.  For example, you are LIKELY to do your homework today.  There is a chance that you may forget...but you will probably do it.

In an event that is UNLIKELY, that means that it will probably NOT happen.  There is a very slight chance that it may happen, but it is not likely.  For example, it will snow in July.  Although it doesn't usually snow in July, there is a little itty bitty chance that it may.

Draw a picture of something that is LIKELY and something that is UNLIKELY and tell me WHY.
