Spelling Poem #15: Five Little Reindeers

Since this is the last week of school before the holidays, I have decided to give you all break!  There are NO spelling words this week and NO Spelling Bee on Friday.  However, please study ALL the spelling words that we have learned so far because there will be a fun game this week with all those words.  Here is a poem for the holidays, it is like the story of  ''5 Little Monkeys''.

Eight Little Reindeers

Eight little reindeers pulling Santa's sled,
one fell down and bumped his head.
The elves called Santa and Santa said,
'Can seven little reindeers pull my sled?'
Count down the same way (replacing 'eight' with 'seven' and so on) until you get to 'one' little reindeer.
One little reindeer puling Santa's sled,
he fell down and bumped his head.
The elves called Santa and Santa said,
'Call Rudolph!'

Our Trip to Harbourfront!

Boys and girls had a very fun time today on our field trip to the Harbourfront Centre.  We learned how to make clay masks and also how to hip hop dance!  It was so much fun!  A special thank you goes out to Sam's mom, who volunteered to come with us!  I hope everyone let their masks dry and display it somewhere in your home.

Reader's Theatre: The Gingerbread Man

We were hard at work the past few weeks being good actors and actresses!  We read the story "The Gingerbread Man" and then did a reader's theatre for it.  We made our characters, got our script, and practiced really hard!  This week, we finished presenting our final performance and everyone did a good job!  You can practice reading with fluency and expression at home with your scripts.

Happy Halloween!

Our 3D Halloween pumpkins

Happy Halloween everyone!  I hope that you had a great day at school with all your costumes!  We did a lot, from doing some Halloween math, to visiting the haunted house, to our class party!  Thanks for everyone who brought in treats to share with the class.  If you did not bring in a treat this time, please bring something in for our next class party!  If you go Trick-or-Treating with your family tonight, please remember the safety tips that we reviewed today at school!  Always stay with an adult and never eat something without having an adult to check it over.  Have a wonderful night!
