Happy Halloween!

Our 3D Halloween pumpkins

Happy Halloween everyone!  I hope that you had a great day at school with all your costumes!  We did a lot, from doing some Halloween math, to visiting the haunted house, to our class party!  Thanks for everyone who brought in treats to share with the class.  If you did not bring in a treat this time, please bring something in for our next class party!  If you go Trick-or-Treating with your family tonight, please remember the safety tips that we reviewed today at school!  Always stay with an adult and never eat something without having an adult to check it over.  Have a wonderful night!

Safety Posters

In Health, we have been learning about safety in our homes, outdoors, and online.  To tie it in with Media Literacy, we created some safety posters that were targeted at other children.  These posters all have a short message and captures the attention of the audience by having lots of colour and a picture.  Here are some of our posters:

Family Tree Projects

Congratulations on finishing your first project in Grade 2!  Many of you did a wonderful job on your family trees and it was exciting to share them in class!  It was nice seeing your extended families!

Fire Escape Plan

In Health, we have been learning about personal safety.  Today we talked about fire safety at home.  Just like how we practice for fire drills at school, you should also have an escape plan and meeting place at home.  Below is an example of a fire escape plan...you should always have 2 ways out in case one way is blocked by the fire.  Where is your meeting place with your family?

If you would like to make an escape plan with your family, you can click HERE and print it out.  Always practice escaping and check your fire alarms to make sure they have batteries!
